Campus Minister

Rob Coulston began as the lay chaplain at St. Augustine’s Chapel, the Episcopal and Lutheran Campus Ministry at UK in September 2017.  Rob is a Kentucky native who grew up in Lexington and attends St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in the Zandale neighborhood. A 2008 graduate from UK, he majored in German literature and minored in Hebrew and Jewish studies. Since graduating, he has built an eclectic resume, including work as an 8th grade English teacher in South Carolina, an environmental education teacher in Eastern Kentucky, a youth minister in two churches in two different dioceses, a community development coordinator, and a professional baker. He also served as an intern at an Episcopal monastery, the Society of St. John the Evangelist, in Massachusetts for a year. He was also a deputy to the 81st General Convention of the Episcopal Church in 2024. He is married to Melissa, who works with Kentucky Refugee Ministries. They have one child.
