Read…the text with an open mind…then, read it a second time.
About noon the next day…Peter went up on the roof to pray…he fell into a trance. He saw the heaven opened and something like a large sheet coming down, being lowered to the ground by its four corners. In it were all kinds of four-footed creatures and reptiles and birds of the air. Then he heard a voice saying, ‘Get up, Peter; kill and eat.’ But Peter said, ‘By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is profane or unclean.’ The voice said to him again, a second time, ‘What God has made clean, you must not call profane’ .…Acts 10:9 ff
Look…at the scene in the reading.
Let your curiosity look for God at work in the people and their interactions.
Wait…in prayerful expectation.
Listen…for a word with a willing heart…
O God, you prepared your disciples for the coming of the Spirit through the teaching of your Son Jesus Christ: Make the hearts and minds of your servants ready to receive the blessing of the Holy Spirit, that they may be filled with the strength of his presence; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

What signs do you notice of God circulating around the communities of Our Diocese? How might God be present? What might God be up to?
