For the past several years, St. A’s and the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington have offered a winter retreat for college-aged (18 to mid-20’s) young adults at the diocese’ camp and conference center, the Cathedral Domain. At this retreat we have time to relax from and reflect on the previous semester, see old friends and make new ones, and have times of learning and worship. During the retreat we usually work our way through the season of Advent since most folks in this age range don’t always get the chance to experience the anticipation and joy of the season.
This year, due to Covid-19, it will be impossible to have an in-person retreat at the Domain, but St. A’s is committed to making space for young adults. To that end, we will host a one-day, free virtual retreat. It won’t be the same as an in person retreat, and we’re all tired of virtual meetings, but after this very long year, we all need a time to see and be with each other.
During the retreat there will be time to just hang out and catch up, time for a workout and meditation, or any of several other sessions. All young adults are welcome to come to for any or all of the day. All one needs to do is register on the Solstice 2020 website, and we’ll send out the links you’ll need closer to the day of the retreat. You can also read about the sessions we’re offering here.
Everyone involved in the retreat is really looking forward to offering this day and we hope to have a great turn out. Questions can be emailed to stasatuk@gmail.com and we look forward to seeing you at the retreat.
